Effective Date: February 14, 2026
Zero Jump Apps (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the RenameKit application (“Software”) handles information when you use our Software. We designed RenameKit with privacy as a core principle — the Software operates entirely on your local device and does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.
1. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT
RenameKit is an offline, locally-operated application. We want to be transparent about the fact that we do not collect any information from you. Specifically:
• No Personal Information — We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, or any other personally identifiable information through the Software.
• No Usage Data — We do not collect analytics, telemetry, usage statistics, session data, feature usage patterns, crash reports, or any behavioral data about how you use the Software.
• No File Data — We do not access, read, collect, upload, or transmit the contents of your files. The Software only reads file metadata (names, paths, sizes, dates, dimensions) necessary to perform rename operations, and this data never leaves your device.
• No Device Information — We do not collect hardware identifiers, device fingerprints, operating system version, IP addresses, or any technical information about your device.
• No Location Data — We do not collect, track, or store any geographic or location information.
• No Cookies or Tracking — The Software does not use cookies, web beacons, pixels, tracking scripts, or any other tracking technologies.
2. DATA STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE
The Software stores the following data locally on your device to provide its core functionality. This data is stored in your user application data directory (%LocalAppData%\RenameKit\) and is never transmitted to Zero Jump Apps or any third party:
• Application Settings (settings.json) — Your preferences such as theme selection, language, default folder path, and feature toggles. This file contains no personal information.
• Rename Presets (presets.json) — Saved rename operation configurations that you create for reuse. These contain only the rename rule parameters you define (e.g., find/replace text, regex patterns, numbering formats).
• Undo History (undo-history.json) — A record of recent rename operations to enable the undo feature. This includes original and new file paths for files you have renamed. This data is stored only for the duration of the application session and is purged when the application is closed.
You have full control over this data. You may delete these files at any time by navigating to the %LocalAppData%\RenameKit\ directory, or by using the “Reset to Defaults” option in the Software’s Settings page. Uninstalling the Software will also remove this data.
3. HOW THE SOFTWARE PROCESSES YOUR FILES
3.1 Local Processing Only. All file rename operations are performed entirely on your local device. The Software uses standard Windows file system APIs to read file metadata and rename files. At no point are file names, file paths, file contents, or any file-related data transmitted over a network connection.
3.2 File Metadata Access. To perform its functions, the Software reads the following file metadata: file names, file extensions, file paths, file sizes, creation dates, modification dates, and (for image files) image dimensions. This metadata is used solely to display information in the user interface, generate rename previews, and execute rename operations.
3.3 Cloud-Synchronized Files. If you use the Software to rename files in a cloud-synchronized folder (such as Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox), the renamed files will be synchronized by those third-party services according to their own privacy policies and sync mechanisms. Zero Jump Apps has no control over or access to this synchronization process.
4. NETWORK CONNECTIONS
RenameKit does not initiate any network connections for the purpose of data collection, analytics, or advertising. The Software may make network connections only in the following limited circumstances:
• Microsoft Store Updates — If you have enabled automatic updates through the Microsoft Store, the Store app (not RenameKit) may check for and download Software updates. This process is managed entirely by Microsoft and is subject to Microsoft’s Privacy Statement.
• Cloud File Access — If you select files stored in a cloud-synchronized directory (e.g., OneDrive), your operating system may download file metadata or file placeholders to facilitate access. This is a function of the operating system and cloud service, not of the Software.
RenameKit itself contains no code that transmits data to any server, API, endpoint, or external service.
5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
5.1 Microsoft Store. The Software is distributed through the Microsoft Store. Your purchase, download, and installation are governed by Microsoft’s Terms of Service and Privacy Statement. Payment information is collected and processed solely by Microsoft. Zero Jump Apps does not receive or have access to your payment details (credit card number, billing address, etc.).
5.2 No Third-Party SDKs. The Software does not integrate any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, crash reporting services, or social media integrations. No third-party code within the Software collects or transmits your data.
5.3 Open-Source Components. The Software uses open-source libraries (such as CommunityToolkit and Microsoft.Extensions) for user interface components and application architecture. These libraries operate locally and do not collect or transmit any data.
6. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The Software is a general-purpose file management tool and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because the Software does not collect any personal information from any user, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has somehow provided personal information through the Software, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
7. DATA SECURITY
Because the Software does not collect or transmit personal data, the primary data security consideration relates to the locally stored configuration files on your device. The Software stores its data files in your user-specific application data directory, which is protected by your Windows user account permissions.
We implement the following security measures within the Software:
• Path Traversal Prevention — The Software validates all file paths to prevent rename operations from moving files outside their original directory.
• Input Validation — All user inputs (regex patterns, text fields) are validated and length-limited to prevent abuse or unexpected behavior.
• JSON Deserialization Hardening — All locally stored data files are parsed with depth limits and size caps to prevent malformed files from causing issues.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Windows user account and device. We recommend keeping your operating system and security software up to date.
8. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Because we do not collect personal data, traditional data subject rights (access, deletion, portability, etc.) do not apply in the conventional sense. However, you have full control over all data associated with the Software:
• View Your Data — You can view all locally stored data by navigating to %LocalAppData%\RenameKit\ and opening the JSON files in any text editor.
• Delete Your Data — You can delete any or all locally stored data files at any time. The Software will recreate default settings files as needed.
• Reset Settings — Use the “Reset to Defaults” option in the Settings page to restore all settings to their original values.
• Uninstall — Uninstalling the Software through the Microsoft Store or Windows Settings will remove the Software and its associated local data from your device.
9. INTERNATIONAL USERS
The Software operates entirely on your local device and does not transfer data across borders. Regardless of your location, all data processing occurs locally on your machine. No data is stored on or transmitted to servers in any jurisdiction.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws, please note that because no personal data is collected or processed by Zero Jump Apps, the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, or similar regulations regarding data controller obligations do not apply to the Software’s operation. However, we remain committed to the principles of data minimization and privacy by design that underpin these regulations.
10. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
Zero Jump Apps reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this document and make the revised policy available through the Microsoft Store listing or within the Software.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Software after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
If a future version of the Software introduces any data collection capabilities (such as optional crash reporting or update checking), we will update this Privacy Policy in advance, clearly describe what data is collected and why, and provide you with the ability to opt out.
11. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information. Because RenameKit does not collect, sell, or share any personal information, the following applies:
• Right to Know — We do not collect personal information, so there is no personal information to disclose.
• Right to Delete — We do not hold any personal information to delete. You may delete locally stored application data at any time as described in Section 8.
• Right to Opt-Out of Sale — We do not sell personal information to third parties.
• Non-Discrimination — We do not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.
