Privacy Policy — AFT Strong

LAST UPDATED · 4 OCTOBER 2026
  • Effective Date: October 4, 2026
  • Application: AFT Strong (Android)

1. Introduction

AFT Strong (“the App”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a fitness tracking application that helps U.S. Army personnel and other users log, score, and analyze Army Fitness Test (AFT) results. The App also includes a “Grader Mode” that allows NCOs, officers, and other authorized graders to record and manage fitness assessment data for multiple soldiers.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, how it is stored, and the choices you have.

PLATFORM SCOPE: AFT Strong is currently published for Android only. An iOS version is not published at the date above. Where this policy refers to iOS, the App Store, StoreKit, App Attest, the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), App Tracking Transparency, or iCloud, those passages describe how the App will behave if and when an iOS version is released, and do not apply today. This policy will be revised before an iOS version ships.

By downloading, installing, or using AFT Strong, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

IMPORTANT: AFT Strong is an independent product. It is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to the United States Army, the Department of Defense, or any government agency. Scoring tables and standards referenced in the App are reproduced for convenience and are not an official source of record.

2. Information you provide to the App

The following information is entered by you and stored in a local database on your device:

a) Profile information

  • Display name or nickname (optional; free text — you may use any value)
  • Gender (used solely to apply the correct scoring table)
  • Age (used solely to apply the correct scoring table)
  • Combat MOS designation (where applicable to scoring)
  • Height, waist and weight measurements, body-fat percentage, and the date they were taken, if you enter them

b) Fitness test data

  • Maximum Deadlift (MDL) weight
  • Hand-Release Push-Ups (HRP) repetitions
  • Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC) times
  • Plank (PLK) times
  • Two-Mile Run (TMR) times
  • Calculated event points, total scores, and pass/fail status
  • Test dates and grader notes
  • Unlocked in-app achievements

c) Grader Mode data (if you use this feature)

  • Soldier names, ranks, units, gender, age, and combat MOS designation as entered by you
  • Each soldier’s height, waist and weight measurements, body-fat percentage, and measurement date, if you enter them
  • Fitness test results and grader notes associated with each soldier

During batch grading, the App runs a stopwatch and lap timer. Only each soldier’s final run time is saved; the laps are not.

d) App settings and status

  • Theme preference (Light / Dark / Army Dark)
  • Language preference (English / Spanish)
  • Score entry mode preference
  • Onboarding completion status
  • Premium status and, if you redeemed a promo code, the code and when it expires
  • Backup and auto-backup settings, and, if you connect Google Drive, the Google account email address, which the App shows in Backup & Restore

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR GRADER MODE USERS: If you enter information about other individuals (soldiers you are grading), you are responsible for ensuring you have the authority and any required permission or command approval to record that information, and for complying with your unit’s policies and applicable privacy, records-management, and operational security requirements. Do not enter Social Security Numbers, DoD ID numbers, medical information, or any classified or controlled unclassified information into the App. We recommend using minimal identifiers (for example, last name and rank only).

3. Information collected automatically

a) Device and advertising identifiers

For users of the free (ad-supported) version, Google AdMob may collect:

  • Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID on Android; Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iOS, only if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission)
  • Device type, operating system version, and general device settings
  • Coarse/approximate location derived from IP address
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
  • On Android 13 and later, the ad topics and ad measurement features of Android’s Privacy Sandbox, where they are turned on on your device

b) Device identifier for promo codes

When you redeem a promo code, the App sends your device’s Android ID, an identifier Android assigns to the App on your device. It stays the same if you uninstall and reinstall the App, and changes only if the device is reset. It is used to bind promo code redemptions to a device and prevent abuse. It is not linked to your name, email, or any government identifier.

c) Integrity / anti-abuse signals

When you redeem a promo code, the App uses Firebase App Check (Google Play Integrity on Android; App Attest on iOS) to verify that the request comes from a genuine, unmodified copy of the App. Your IP address is not recorded with redemptions or written to our server logs. Our server logs record, for each redemption attempt, the code, the first eight characters of the device identifier, and the App version. Server logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.

d) Purchase status

Google Play Billing (Android) and StoreKit (iOS) report whether you own the premium upgrade. We receive entitlement status only — never your payment card, bank details, or billing address.

The App does NOT collect precise GPS location, contacts, photos, microphone audio, camera imagery, call logs, SMS messages, or browsing history.

4. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Calculate fitness event scores and total AFT scores
  • Display your history, trends, charts, and progress statistics
  • Generate PDF exports and shareable score cards at your request
  • Provide Grader Mode and batch grading functionality
  • Create and restore backups of your data
  • Determine premium entitlement and remove advertising for premium users
  • Validate promo codes and prevent fraudulent or repeated redemption
  • Serve advertising in the free version

The App does not include a crash reporting or analytics SDK, and we receive no usage statistics or record of which features you use. If your phone is set to share crash reports with Google Play, Google may pass reports about AFT Strong crashes on to us. These describe the crash and your device model and system version, and contain none of your data.

We do NOT sell your personal information. We do NOT share your fitness data with your chain of command, employer, or any third party, and we have no mechanism to do so.

5. Local data storage

All fitness data, profile information, soldier records, and settings are stored in a local database and settings files within the App’s private storage area, protected by your device’s operating system sandbox and, where your device encrypts its storage, by that encryption. The App does not add encryption of its own. The App sends this data off your device only when you explicitly:

  • Enable Google Drive backup (or iCloud on iOS)
  • Export a backup file, PDF, or score card
  • Share content using your device’s share sheet

Your phone’s own backup can also include it. If backup is on for your phone, Android includes the App’s database and settings in its backup to your Google account, and restores them if you reinstall the App. That backup belongs to your Google account, and we have no access to it.

Backup files, PDFs and score cards the App creates are kept in its temporary storage until you clear the App’s storage or uninstall it.

Uninstalling the App deletes the data stored on your device. It does not delete your Google Drive backups, your phone’s own backup, files you saved or shared, or a promo code record on our server. Please export a backup first if you wish to retain your records.

6. Google Drive backup (optional, premium)

If you connect Google Drive:

  • You sign in through Google’s official sign-in flow. We never see or store your Google password.
  • The App requests the drive.appdata scope, which grants access to a hidden, application-specific folder in your Google Drive, along with your basic profile and email address, which Google Sign-In provides. The App cannot see, read, list, or modify any of your other Drive files, documents, or photos.
  • Your backup file (a JSON file containing your profile, results, soldiers, their results and your achievements; settings are not included) is uploaded to that private folder in your own Google Drive account.
  • Zero Jump Apps does not operate, host, or have any access to these backup files. They are stored under your Google account, subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and your Google account settings.
  • The App retains the most recent five backups and removes older ones.
  • If you enable auto-backup, the App uploads a new backup approximately once per day when your data has changed, you are connected to a network, and your battery is not low.
  • Auto-backup runs only while Premium is active, and resumes if Premium returns with auto-backup still on. Before version 3.0.1, auto-backup keeps running after Premium ends; removing the App’s access in your Google account stops it.
  • You may disconnect Google Drive from Backup & Restore. Doing so signs you out, stops auto-backup, and clears the stored connection on your device. It does not delete the backups already in your Drive, and it does not remove the App’s access to your Google account. Before version 3.0.1, the Disconnect option is shown only while Premium is active.

To delete the backups in your Drive, open Google Drive on the web, go to Settings → Manage apps, and choose “Delete hidden app data” under AFT Strong’s options. To remove the App’s access, use the connected apps page of your Google account.

AFT Strong’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The iOS version may additionally support device backup through iCloud, subject to your iOS settings and Apple’s Privacy Policy.

7. Third-party services

The App uses the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

  • Google Play Services / Google Sign-In (Google LLC) — https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google AdMob — advertising in the free version (Google LLC) — https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
  • Google Firebase — Cloud Functions and App Check, used only for promo code redemption. Redemption records are held in Firestore on the server side; the App itself has no database connection and stores nothing there. (Google LLC) — https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
  • Google Play In-App Updates and In-App Review — prompts you when a newer version is available, and shows Google Play’s rating dialog when you choose to rate the App (Google LLC) — https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google Drive API — optional cloud backup (Google LLC) — https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google Play Billing — purchases on Android (Google LLC) — https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Apple App Store / StoreKit — purchases on iOS (Apple Inc.) — https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

We do not control these providers’ data practices and encourage you to review their policies.

8. Advertising and your choices

The free version of AFT Strong displays banner advertising through Google AdMob. Ads may be personalized based on the advertising identifier associated with your device.

Your options:

  • Android: Settings → Security & privacy → More privacy settings → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads on some devices, to delete or reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization
  • iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking > disable “Allow Apps to Request to Track”, or decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, ads will still appear but will be non-personalized.
  • Purchase the premium upgrade to remove all advertising from the App.

9. In-app purchases and promo codes

The premium upgrade is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. All payment information is handled by the respective store. We receive only a confirmation of entitlement.

Promo codes grant temporary premium access for testing or promotional purposes. When you redeem a code, the App transmits the code, your device’s Android ID (section 3b), and the App version to our Firebase Cloud Functions backend. When the code is accepted, the backend records the redemption (code, Android ID, App version, and time) and counts the use against the code’s limit, to enforce usage limits and prevent abuse. Rate limiting is applied to redemption attempts.

When a promo period expires, premium features are disabled but all of your data is preserved and remains accessible.

10. Data retention

  • Local data: retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. Your phone’s own backup, if it includes the App, is kept under your Google account’s settings.
  • Google Drive backups: retained in your own Drive app folder (latest five) until you delete them. Disconnecting Google Drive does not delete them.
  • Promo redemption records: retained for up to 24 months for fraud prevention, then deleted automatically.
  • Server logs: deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Advertising data: retained by Google according to its own retention policies.

11. Your rights and choices

Because your fitness data lives on your device, you have direct control over it:

  • Access: View all your data within the App at any time.
  • Export / portability: Use Backup & Restore to export a complete JSON copy of your data, or export results as a PDF.
  • Correction: Edit your profile and your soldier records directly in the App. Test results cannot be edited; delete one and enter it again to correct it.
  • Deletion: Delete individual results and soldiers in the App, or use Settings → Delete data to delete your profile, all results, all soldiers and their results at once. That leaves your achievements, settings, and the backup files, PDFs and score cards in the App’s temporary storage; clearing the App’s storage in your device settings, or uninstalling the App, removes those too. Deleting Google Drive backups is done through Google Drive (section 6). To have a promo code record deleted, contact us with the code and the date you redeemed it. The steps are set out in full at https://zerojumpapps.com/legal/aft-strong/deletion/.
  • Withdraw consent: Disconnect Google Drive in the App (before version 3.0.1, only while Premium is active), turn off auto-backup while Premium is active, or remove the App’s access in your Google account at any time. Opt out of ad personalization in your device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA), or similar state and national laws — including the right to access, correct, delete, or port personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, other than the advertising identifier processing described in Sections 3 and 8, which you may opt out of using your device settings.

The developer is established in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, United States. This policy is governed by the law of Puerto Rico and applicable United States federal law. If you are a resident of Puerto Rico, you may also raise a consumer complaint with the Puerto Rico Department of Consumer Affairs (Departamento de Asuntos del Consumidor, DACO).

Where GDPR applies, our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract (providing the App’s functionality), your consent (Drive backup, personalized advertising), and legitimate interests (fraud prevention, security, and app stability).

To exercise any right or ask a question, contact us as set out in section 16. We will respond within 30 days. Note that because most data never reaches our servers, we may be unable to identify or act on data stored solely on your device — you retain full control of that data yourself.

12. Children’s privacy

AFT Strong is intended for users 17 years of age or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us (section 16) and we will take appropriate action.

13. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Reliance on operating system sandboxing for local data
  • Transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all network communication
  • Firebase App Check attestation to block requests from modified or emulated clients
  • Server-side rules that deny direct database access; all backend access is mediated by Cloud Functions
  • Input validation and rate limiting on promo code endpoints
  • Use of Google Drive’s private app-data folder, which is inaccessible to other applications

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protecting your device with a passcode, biometric lock, and full-device encryption is strongly recommended, especially if you use Grader Mode.

14. International data transfers

Our backend services are operated by Google Cloud Platform and may process data in the United States and other countries. If you are located outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions whose data protection laws differ from those of your country. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms implemented by our service providers.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, our practices, or legal requirements. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this document will be revised, and the current version will always be available at https://zerojumpapps.com. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice or store listing update. Continued use of the App after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
