Privacy Policy — Pártemelo

LAST UPDATED · 26 JULY 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Zero Jump Apps, LLC (“we”, “us”) handles information in the Pártemelo mobile application (“the App”). Pártemelo lets a group scan a restaurant receipt, join a shared room, claim the items they ordered, and split the bill.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

1. The short version

  • We never collect, store, or process payment card or bank account information. The App only opens third-party payment apps (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, ATH Móvil) with a pre-filled amount where available. Money never moves through Pártemelo.
  • We do not show ads, and we do not sell or rent your personal information.
  • Receipt text is read on your device by default.
  • You can use the Quick Split feature with no account at all — that data never leaves your phone.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

Account information. An account is required to use the collaborative features. When you register we receive your email address and a Firebase-generated user ID. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic Google profile information. We never see or store your password — authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.

Display name. The name you choose during onboarding. It is shown to other people in any room you join.

Payment usernames (optional). Your public Venmo, PayPal, or Cash App username, if you choose to add one. These are public handles only — they contain no card, bank, or balance information. They are shared with other members of rooms you create or join so they can pay you.

Receipt data. Item names, quantities, prices, tax, tip, discounts, totals, and who claimed which item.

Receipt photographs. Photos you capture or select in order to scan a receipt.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Crash and diagnostic data. If a crash or error occurs, Firebase Crashlytics may collect a crash trace, device model, OS version, and an installation identifier. You can turn this off at any time in Profile → Data & Privacy. We never send receipt images or receipt contents to Crashlytics.

Purchase records. If you buy a subscription or the lifetime upgrade, Google Play sends us a purchase token that we verify with Google, plus your resulting plan status and expiry. We do not receive your payment method.

Usage counters. A monthly count of receipt scans and AI repair credits used, so we can apply plan limits.

We do not collect your location, contacts, calendar, browsing history, health data, or advertising identifiers. The App contains no advertising SDK and, at the date above, no third-party analytics SDK.

3. How receipt scanning works

Standard scanning is on-device. Text recognition uses Google ML Kit running locally on your phone. The photo is not uploaded in order to be read.

Receipt image storage. The App may upload a scanned receipt image to Google Cloud Storage associated with your account so it can be re-processed. This is used only for your own receipts and is not shared with other users.

AI receipt repair (paid feature, opt-in per use). If you tap “Repair with AI”, the recognized text of that receipt — not the image — is sent to our Google Cloud Function, which forwards it to Google Gemini to correct misread lines. The result is cached against your account so the same receipt is not re-processed. Do not use this feature on a receipt containing information you do not want processed by Google. This feature is never triggered automatically.

4. Why we use your information

  • To create and secure your account, and to verify your email address.
  • To operate shared rooms — showing your display name and claims to other members of the same room in real time.
  • To calculate each person’s share of a bill.
  • To let others pay you, by displaying your chosen payment usernames and opening the relevant payment app.
  • To keep a history of your settled receipts on your device.
  • To verify purchases, apply plan limits, and prevent abuse of paid features.
  • To diagnose crashes and fix bugs (unless you have opted out).

Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (running the App and your account), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, fixing crashes), and consent (optional crash reporting and optional AI repair).

5. What other people can see

When you join or create a room, other members of that room can see your display name, the items you claim, the amount you owe, whether you have marked yourself as paid, and any payment usernames you have saved. They cannot see your email address.

Please choose a display name you are comfortable sharing with the people you split bills with.

6. Quick Split (no account)

Quick Split is available without signing in. Everything you enter in a Quick Split session — participants, items, amounts — is stored only in the app’s local database on your device. It is never uploaded, never associated with an account, and is deleted when you close the session. If you share a summary, it leaves your device only through the app you choose to share it with.

7. Service providers

We do not sell your data. We share it only with providers that process it on our behalf:

  • Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Crashlytics) — account, room, and receipt data; crash reports.
  • Google Gemini API — recognized receipt text, only when you invoke AI repair.
  • Google Play Billing / Google Play Developer API — purchase verification.
  • Google Fonts — the App downloads its typefaces from Google’s font service the first time it runs, then caches them on your device. This is a request for font files only. It carries no account, room, or receipt data, but like any network request it reveals your IP address to Google.

Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

When you tap a payment button, you leave Pártemelo and enter a third-party app (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, ATH Móvil). We transmit no personal data to those companies; we only open their app or website with an amount and a note. Their own privacy policies then apply.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the security of the service.

8. International transfers

Our infrastructure is provided by Google and your data may be stored and processed in the United States and other countries where Google operates. Where required, transfers rely on Google Cloud’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Retention

  • Room and receipt data stays in our database while the room exists and is retained so members can review a settled bill.
  • Receipt history is stored locally on your device. Free accounts keep the most recent 20 receipts; paid accounts keep them without that limit.
  • Crash reports follow Firebase Crashlytics’ retention period (currently 90 days).
  • Account data is retained until you delete your account.

10. Your choices and rights

  • Turn off crash reporting — Profile → Data & Privacy.
  • Clear local data — Profile → Data & Privacy → Clear local data removes your receipt history and saved rooms from the device.
  • Remove payment usernames — clear them in your profile; the change is pushed to rooms you belong to.
  • Delete your account and associated data — see Section 11.
  • Camera and photo access — revoke at any time in Android Settings. Scanning will stop working; manual entry will not.

Depending on where you live (EEA/UK under the GDPR, California under the CCPA/CPRA, and others), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Contact us at the address in Section 13 to make a request; we will respond within the period required by law.

11. Deleting your account

You can delete your Pártemelo account and its associated data:

  • In the App: Profile → Data & Privacy → Delete account.
  • By request: email support@zerojumpapps.com from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”.

Deletion removes your authentication record, display name, payment usernames, plan and credit records, and your membership and claims in rooms. Receipt history stored locally on your device is removed when you delete the app or use “Clear local data”. Some records may be retained where we are legally required to do so (for example, purchase records needed for tax or refund purposes). Purchases are managed by Google Play and are not reversed by deleting your account.

12. Children

Pártemelo is not directed to children and is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
