Data Deletion — VaultDream

LAST UPDATED · 4 OCTOBER 2026

Applies to VaultDream for Android (com.zerojumpapps.vaultdream) and for iPhone, published by Zero Jump Apps, LLC. Where the two differ, the difference is named.

VaultDream has no account, and your journal is kept on your phone, not with us. There is no request to make of us: you delete it on the phone, using the steps below.

Delete one dream

  1. Open the “Dreams” tab.
  2. Swipe the dream from right to left.
  3. In the “Delete dream?” dialog, tap “Delete”.

Delete all dreams

  1. Open the “Settings” tab.
  2. Under “Danger zone”, tap “Delete all dreams”.
  3. In the “Delete all dreams?” dialog, tap “Delete all”.

This deletes every dream, and with them your trophies and statistics, which are worked out from your dreams. It does not delete:

  • the tags, people, places and categories you have used, which the editor still suggests,
  • your last six searches,
  • your settings, and your app-lock PIN if you set one,
  • copies of backup files you exported, which the app keeps in its temporary folder.

To remove those as well, use the next step.

Delete everything

Android: uninstall the app, or open Android Settings → Apps → VaultDream (listed as “vault_dream”) → Storage, and clear the app’s storage. The wording differs between phones, for example “Storage & cache” → “Clear storage”.

iPhone: delete the app. Two things stay in the phone’s keychain after the app is deleted, because iOS keeps keychain entries: your theme choice and, if you set an app lock, your PIN, which is stored only as a salted hash, never as the PIN itself. To remove the PIN too, turn the app lock off before you delete the app, as described next.

This removes your journal and everything listed above.

Remove the app-lock PIN

  1. Open the “Settings” tab.
  2. Under “Security”, turn “App lock” off.
  3. In the “Turn off app lock?” dialog, tap “Turn off”.

Your PIN is deleted, and the journal opens without one.

Backups made by your phone

Your phone’s own backup can include VaultDream’s journal, even though the app never sends it to us.

  • Android: if backup is on for your phone, Android includes the journal, your settings and your searches in its backup to your Google account, and restores them if you reinstall the app. You can turn backup off, or delete your phone’s backup, in your phone’s backup settings or under Backups in the Google Drive app.
  • iPhone: iCloud Backup and backups to a computer include the journal and your settings. You can manage them in Settings → your name → iCloud → iCloud Backup.

Files you exported with “Backup & restore” are wherever you saved or sent them. Delete them there.

Cloud dictation

“Cloud dictation” is off unless you turn it on, under Settings → “Dictation”. While it is on, each recording you make in the dream editor is sent to our transcription service, which passes it to Google Cloud Speech-to-Text and returns the text. The recording is deleted from your phone once the text comes back.

The service stores neither the recording nor the text, so there is nothing of yours on it to delete. It sees your IP address, as any website does, and holds it in memory only to limit how often one address can use the service. Google Cloud’s request logs record the IP address and time of each request, and are deleted after 30 days.

To stop sending recordings, turn “Cloud dictation” off. Dictation then runs on your phone only.

Your purchase

VaultDream is a paid app. The record of your purchase belongs to Google Play or the App Store, not to us, and deleting your data does not affect it. You can download the app again with the same account at any time.
