Privacy Policy — Kraken Calc

Applies to the Android application com.xeroxislabz.krakencalc, published by Zero Jump Apps.

This policy explains what information Kraken Calc (“the app”, “we”, “us”), made by Zero Jump Apps, collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

1. Information stored only on your device

The following stays on your device and is not sent to us:

  • The numbers you enter and the results of your calculations.
  • Settings: theme, Material You colors, button sounds and haptic feedback.
  • Your favorite and recently used calculators.
  • When your current 15-minute premium unlock ends, and whether you own Kraken Calc Pro.
  • The most recent currency exchange rates the app downloaded.

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in your device’s settings, removes this information.

2. Information collected by services we use

a) Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics)

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to count how the app is used: for example, how often it is opened, how long a session lasts, the app version, your device model, operating system version, language, and your approximate country or region. This is linked to a random app instance identifier, not to your name or email address. The numbers you enter are not collected.

b) Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

If the app crashes, Google Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report: where in the code the crash happened, the device model, operating system version, free memory and storage, and a random installation identifier. We use these reports only to find and fix bugs.

c) Ads (Google AdMob)

See section 3.

d) Purchases (Google Play)

If you buy Kraken Calc Pro, Google Play processes the payment. We receive a confirmation that the purchase was made and a purchase token from Google Play, which the app uses to check that you own Pro. We don’t receive your name, email address or payment details.

e) Currency exchange rates

The Currency calculator downloads daily European Central Bank reference rates from Frankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev and api.frankfurter.app), a third-party service. Like any website, it receives your IP address and standard request information when the rates are downloaded. No other information is sent.

3. Advertising

Kraken Calc shows ads through Google AdMob: a banner at the bottom of most screens, and an optional ad you can choose to watch to unlock premium calculators for 15 minutes. Google may collect and use information such as your device’s advertising ID, IP address, approximate location, and device and app information to show and measure ads.

You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device’s Google settings. For more information, see Google’s policy at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Kraken Calc Pro removes all ads.

4. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • show ads and unlock premium calculators after a watched ad;
  • confirm Kraken Calc Pro purchases and restore them on a new device;
  • understand which calculators and features are used, so we can improve them;
  • find and fix crashes and bugs;
  • respond to your questions and requests.

5. Sharing

We don’t sell your personal information or share it for others’ marketing. Information is shared only:

  • with service providers that run parts of the app for us: Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics), Google AdMob (ads), Google Play (purchases) and Frankfurter (exchange rates);
  • when required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the app.

6. How long we keep information

  • Information on your device is kept until you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
  • Usage statistics are kept by Google Firebase for a limited time set in our Analytics settings, at most 14 months.
  • Crash reports are kept by Google Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
  • Purchase records are kept by Google Play under Google’s own policies.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Use the app without giving us your name or email address: there is nothing to sign up for.
  • Opt out of personalized ads, or reset your advertising ID, in your device’s settings.
  • Remove ads completely with Kraken Calc Pro.
  • Delete the information on your device by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage. See Data Deletion — Kraken Calc.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your information. To make a request, contact us at support@zerojumpapps.com.

8. Children

Kraken Calc is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us at support@zerojumpapps.com and we’ll delete it.

9. Security

Information sent by the app travels over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

10. International transfers

The services above are run by Google and other providers with servers in the United States and other countries. If you use the app from elsewhere, your information may be processed there.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we’ll let you know in the app.
