Data Deletion — Ring Maker
Applies to the Ring Maker Android app, com.xeroxislabz.ringmaker, published by Zero Jump Apps, LLC.
Ring Maker has no account and the app sends nothing to us, so there is no request to make of us. Everything it keeps is on your phone, and you delete it there. The ringtone list and the audio files the app saves are deleted separately, so both are covered below.
1. Delete a ringtone from My Ringtones
- Open Ring Maker and go to the “My Ringtones” tab.
- Tap ⋮ on the ringtone’s row.
- Tap “Delete”.
- In the “Delete ringtone?” dialog, tap “Delete”.
This removes the ringtone from My Ringtones only. The audio file the app saved stays on your phone, and any sound or contact ringtone you set from it does not change. To remove those, follow the next two steps.
2. Change the sound back, if you set one
Ring Maker never changes a sound back on its own, even when you delete the ringtone or uninstall the app. Before you delete the file in step 3:
- If you used “Set as ringtone”, “Set as notification sound” or “Set as alarm sound”, choose a different sound in your phone’s sound settings.
- If you used “Set for a contact”, open that contact in your Contacts app and change its ringtone back.
3. Delete the audio files
Ring Maker names each file after the ringtone. Each time you save, including saving again after editing a ringtone, it saves a new file and keeps the old one. Where the files are depends on how they were saved:
- The Ringtones folder in your phone’s storage. This is where the app saves ringtones while Settings → Storage → “Save to public folder” is on, which it is unless you turned it off. These files stay after you uninstall the app. Delete them with your phone’s Files app.
- Copies made when you set a sound. Each time you use “Set as ringtone”, “Set as notification sound”, “Set as alarm sound” or “Set for a contact”, the app also saves a copy of the ringtone to your phone’s shared storage, in the Ringtones folder on Android 10 and later. These copies stay after you uninstall the app. Delete them with your phone’s Files app too.
- The app’s own folder. If you turned “Save to public folder” off, new ringtones are saved inside the app’s own storage. These are removed in step 4.
- Files you exported or shared. A file you saved with “Save as file…” is wherever you chose to put it, and a file you shared is in the app you shared it with. Delete them there.
4. Remove everything else
Uninstall the app, or open Android Settings → Apps → Ring Maker → Storage, and clear the app’s storage. The wording differs between phones, for example “Storage & cache” → “Clear storage”.
This removes your ringtone list, your settings, such as the theme and the “Save to public folder” switch, and any ringtones saved inside the app’s own folder. It does not remove the files in the Ringtones folder, the copies made when you set a sound, or files you exported or shared.
Backups made by your phone
If backup is on for your phone, Android includes Ring Maker in its backup to your Google account (your ringtone list, your settings and any ringtones saved inside the app’s own folder) and restores it if you reinstall the app. Files in the Ringtones folder are not part of it. You can turn backup off, or delete your phone’s backup, in your phone’s backup settings or under Backups in the Google Drive app.
Advertising data
Ring Maker shows a banner ad from Google AdMob. To serve and measure it, Google collects data such as your device’s advertising ID and IP address directly from the ads software in the app. We never receive it, so we cannot delete it for you.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, and turn off ad personalisation, in your phone’s ads settings: Android Settings → Security & privacy → More privacy settings → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads on some phones. To ask Google about the data it holds, use your Google account.
