Privacy Policy — Ring Maker

Ring Maker (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an Android application published by Zero Jump Apps, LLC (“the developer”). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app.

1. Summary

Ring Maker does not require an account, does not have a server, and does not upload your audio files anywhere.

Everything you do in the app — browsing your music, trimming a clip, saving a ringtone — happens entirely on your own device. Your audio files never leave your phone unless you deliberately choose to share a ringtone using Android’s share menu.

The one exception is advertising. The app displays banner ads supplied by Google AdMob, and Google collects certain device information in order to serve them. That is described in section 4.

2. Information we do not collect

We want to be specific about this, because it covers most of what people usually worry about. The developer does not collect, receive, store, or have any access to:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact details
• Any account or login credentials (the app has no accounts)
• Your audio files, music library, or the ringtones you create
• Your location
• Your contacts, messages, call logs, photos, or camera
• Analytics or usage statistics (the app contains no analytics SDK)
• Crash reports (the app contains no crash reporting SDK)

The app has no backend server. There is no database anywhere that we control containing information about you.

3. Information processed on your device

The app stores the following on your device only. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else.

Your ringtone library For each ringtone you create, the app records its name, the file path of the source audio, the file path of the trimmed output, the start and end trim points, the fade in and fade out lengths, the duration, the date it was created, whether you marked it a favourite, and whether it has been set as your ringtone, notification, or alarm sound. This is kept in a local database on your device.

Your app settings Your theme choice (system, light, or dark) and whether you have enabled saving to public storage. Kept in local app storage.

Your audio files The app reads audio files from your device so you can browse and trim them. Audio is read and processed in memory on your device. Trimmed output is written to the app’s own storage directory, or to your device’s public ringtones directory if you enable that setting.

All of this is removed when you uninstall the app, except for ringtone files you chose to save to public storage or export yourself. Those are ordinary files on your device and remain until you delete them.

4. Advertising

Ring Maker displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. This is the only third-party service in the app, and the only reason the app uses the internet.

To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process information such as:

• Your device’s advertising identifier (a resettable ID)
• Your IP address, and coarse location derived from it
• Device information such as model, operating system version, and language
• Information about ads shown to you, including views and interactions

This information is collected directly by Google’s advertising software included in the app. The developer does not receive it, other than aggregate earnings reports that do not identify individual users.

Google’s handling of this data is governed by its own policies:

• Google Privacy Policy
• How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services

You can limit ad personalisation on your device at any time:

Android Settings > Privacy > Ads (wording varies by manufacturer and Android version)

From there you can reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of personalised advertising.

5. Permissions and why they are needed

The app requests the following Android permissions. Each is used only for the stated purpose.

Music and audio access (READ_MEDIA_AUDIO on Android 13 and above, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older versions) To list the audio files on your device so you can choose one to trim.

Storage writing (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, Android 9 and below only) To save the ringtones you create.

Modify system settings (WRITE_SETTINGS) Required by Android to set a sound as your default ringtone, notification tone, or alarm. It is requested only at the moment you use that feature, and is used for nothing else.

Modify audio settings (MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS) For audio playback within the app.

Internet and network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) Used solely to load advertisements. No other network communication takes place.

6. Sharing of information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We have none to sell.

Information leaves your device in only two circumstances:

• Advertising. As described in section 4, Google’s advertising software transmits device and ad information to Google.
• When you choose to share. If you use the share option on a ringtone, the file is passed to whichever app you select (messaging, email, cloud storage, and so on). What happens to it after that is governed by that app’s own privacy policy. This only ever happens when you initiate it.

7. Data retention and deletion

Because your data stays on your device, you control it entirely.

• Delete an individual ringtone using the delete option on its card in the app.
• Remove everything the app stores by uninstalling the app, or by using Android Settings > Apps > Ring Maker > Storage > Clear data.
• Ringtone files you exported or saved to public storage are ordinary files and must be deleted through your file manager if you want them gone.

There is no request to make of us to delete your data, because we do not hold any. For advertising data held by Google, use the controls in section 4 or contact Google directly.

8. Children

Ring Maker is a general audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at support@zerojumpapps.com.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of it, and to object to it being used for direct marketing.

Because the developer does not collect or hold personal data, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve or erase. Requests concerning advertising data should be directed to Google, which acts as the data controller for that information. See section 4 for links.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, note that we do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

The developer is established in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and this policy is governed by the law of Puerto Rico and applicable United States federal law. If you are a resident of Puerto Rico, you may raise a consumer complaint with the Puerto Rico Department of Consumer Affairs (Departamento de Asuntos del Consumidor, DACO). Puerto Rico law also protects personal information held in databases; as described above, the developer maintains no such database, because the app’s data stays on your device.

10. Security

Your ringtone library and settings are stored in the app’s private storage area, which Android protects from other applications. Because we operate no servers and transmit none of your content, there is no transmission of your audio to secure.

No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data held on your own device.

Puerto Rico and other jurisdictions require the holder of a database of personal information to notify affected people if that database is breached. The developer holds no such database, so there is no store of your information that could be breached on our side. A compromise of your own device is outside our control and is a matter for your device security.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if the app gains a new feature that changes how information is handled. The “last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Significant changes will be reflected in the app listing. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
