Privacy Policy — Noqui Notes

LAST UPDATED · 28 SEPTEMBER 2026

Effective date: September 28, 2026

Noqui Notes is a notes app for Android, published by Zero Jump Apps, LLC (“we”, “us”), that keeps your notes encrypted on your device. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have.

Information stored on your device

There is no account and no Noqui Notes server, so your notes never pass through us. The app contains no analytics and no crash-reporting SDKs.

Everything you create in Noqui Notes stays on your device:

  • Notes, titles, checklists, tags, folders, colours and version history live in an encrypted database (SQLCipher, AES-256).
  • Attachments are encrypted separately (AES-256-GCM).
  • Your vault password is never stored. A key is derived from it with Argon2id, and the vault key is additionally protected by the Android Keystore.
  • If you turn on biometric unlock, your fingerprint or face data never leaves Android’s biometric system. Noqui Notes only receives a success or failure result.
  • App settings (theme, auto-lock, sort order and so on) are stored on the device.

The app disables Android’s automatic cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so this data isn’t copied to Google’s Android backup service.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app shows a banner ad on its main screens (the notes list, folders and settings) and a full-screen ad after you export a backup or an attachment. The screen tells you before an export that an ad will follow. Ads never appear over a note, its history or the lock screen.

  • Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects information such as your device’s advertising ID, IP address (from which an approximate location can be inferred), device model and operating system, and how you interact with the ads.
  • The SDK runs in the app but has no access to your notes, attachments, passwords or backups, which stay encrypted.
  • Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), the app asks for your consent before loading ads, using Google’s consent form. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices. Where consent isn’t given, Google may show non-personalised or limited ads.
  • You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device’s Google or privacy settings.
  • Google handles this information under its own policies.
  • After you buy “Remove ads”, the app no longer loads ads or starts the ads SDK.

Google Drive backup (optional)

If you connect Google Drive:

  • The app asks Google for permission to use only the drive.file scope. With it, the app can see and manage only the files it creates; it can’t read your other Drive files.
  • Backups are encrypted on your device with your backup password before upload. They’re stored as .noqui files in a folder named “Noqui Notes Backups” in your Drive. Neither we nor Google can read their contents without your backup password.
  • The app reads the email address of the connected Google account and stores it on your device, only to show you which account is connected. It isn’t sent anywhere else.
  • Google handles your use of Google Drive under Google’s own privacy policy.

You can disconnect Google Drive in the app at any time. See the Data Deletion page for removing backups and revoking access.

Local backup files

When you export a backup, the app writes an encrypted .noqui file to a location you choose. From then on, that file is under your control.

Purchases

Noqui Notes is free to download and use. The optional “Remove ads” purchase is sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never see your payment details. The app checks with Google Play whether you own the purchase, and stores the result on your device. Google provides developers with limited transaction records (such as an order number, date, product, price and country), which we use only for accounting, tax and refund purposes.

Permissions

Permission Why
Biometric Optional fingerprint or face unlock
Internet, network state Ads, the ad consent form, Google Play purchases and the optional Google Drive backup
Advertising ID Added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK to show and measure ads
Google Play billing The optional “Remove ads” purchase

Clipboard and screen privacy

  • Text you copy can be cleared from the clipboard automatically, and is marked as sensitive so Android doesn’t show it in clipboard previews.
  • Screenshot and screen-recording protection and hiding the app in Recents are available in Settings.

Children

Noqui Notes isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t collect personal information ourselves, so there is none to delete on our side. Information collected by Google AdMob is handled under Google’s policies.

Security

  • Notes are protected by strong encryption and Android platform security.
  • No app can protect data on a device that is already compromised (for example, rooted or running malware), so keep your device’s screen lock on.
  • If you forget your vault password and have no backup you can open, your notes can’t be recovered. We have no copy and no way to reset it.

Your rights

We don’t hold personal information about you. For information Google collects for ads, use Settings → Ad privacy choices (where available), your device’s ad settings, or Google’s tools at myadcenter.google.com. Your notes are on your device and, if you choose, in your own Google Drive, so you can view, export or delete them yourself at any time (see the Data Deletion page).

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, mention it in the app’s release notes.
